Meanwhile, Connor's twin sister Grace enjoys a bittersweet reunion with their mother, Sally, who has some important and shocking news for her daughter. As Grace uncovers the truth about her family's past, she realizes that she and Connor face a daunting and uncertain future, because Grace and Connor are half vampires and half human. Alas, Sally dies, and Connor then "kills" Lady Lola Lockwood by beheading her with a special sword. Sidoro then tries to kill him but then Cheng Li tells him that Connor is his son. On hearing this shocking piece of news, he brings him on board his ship. He tracks down Grace and keeps her on his ship too and refuses to let the twins leave.

Después de haberse encontrado de nuevo, Grace y Connor están juntos en el barco pirata Diablo. Connor ya es un pirata experimentado, contento con su vida a bordo del barco. Grace sin embargo añora estar en el barco de los vampiratas y comprende que aunque se separe de su hermano siempre estarán juntos, por lo que busca la manera de regresar al barco. Mientras, Sidorio, un vampirata enviado al exilio, busca la manera de vengarse del capitán de estos y de Grace.

El padre de Grace y Connor Tempest muere, y como a estos ya no les queda nada por lo que luchar, ya que no saben nada acrca de su madre, deciden hurtar el pequeño barco que pertenecia a su padre -pero que ahora pertenecía al banco por las deudas del difunto- para lanzarse a una aventura en el mar. Para sorpresa de ellos, en medio del mar les pillará una tormenta, y los dos hermanos se separan. Grace se irá a un raro barco en el que viven unos seres extraños (los Vampiratas) y Connor a un barco pirata. Grace se instala en el barco y se hace amiga de Lorcan Furey . Mientras tanto los Vampiratas siguen creciendo y se dividen en dos barcos. El barco en el que no está Grace mata a gente para poder beber sangre. La Academia Pirata encomiendá a Cheng Li, una joven capitana, matar a los Vampiratas. Esta hace a Connor miembro de su tripulación. Li y su barco se dirigen a matar a los Vampiratas, pero no saben que hay unos Vampiratas buenos y unos malos. Entonces Grace le deberá decir a Connor que solo se encrguen de los Vampiratas malos. La tripulación mata a los Vampiratas. Al final de la historia Grace y Connor descubren que su madre, Sally, fue donante del barco Vampirata, y que el padre de Grace y Connor eran hijos de Sally y de Sidorio, que era el capitán del otro barco, y que Dexter Tempest aceptó quedarse con los niños aunque no fueran suyos. Por eso Lorcan Furey y el capitán conocían a Grace. Otra cosa por la que conocían a ella y a su hermano, era porque Sally se los dejó a Lorcan cuando no los pudo cuidar.
